Another food blog! Oh no!

Food blogs are trite and tired, I know, but cooking is one of my favorite activities; it defines me and shapes me.

I have no desire to make the world a better place with a picture of a delicately roasted pork shoulder or a recipe for magical meringue, but with every dish, cooking makes a better me. Derivative Dishes is the place where I document my culinary impulses that take me to places that make me slightly uncomfortable, help me grow and lead me to new experiences.

And, since I can’t invite everyone over for a transformative dinner or dessert, Derivative Dishes is how I share the meals that bring me serenity and joy.
